My response when I saw Edit Image button
I just committed crime toward artist just for thought experiment. I silently come into accounts that have “NO AI” in bio and just click their art, smash some silly words like “alter the color & pose be different,” “make her wear sunglasses,” “make him pregnant.” Then I burst laugh in the most ironic way. Everyone can do it with one click away… forgive me for my sins that became guilty pleasure, what a world we’re currently living in. This makes me think deeply about post-absurdism.
Stupid free feature, so yeah. Image on your screen is just an array of pixels now, nothing is real. Welcome to the accelerated slop timelines weeeeeeeeeee~
My head just got heated, maybe sleep could fix it. This AI disruption is something. I’m still curious what effect it will bring to human perception about social media, but what a bleak world. Nothing to discuss, my algo so plummeted. What I do lately is dialogue into the void. The wonder of existing and meaning become nihil here. So yeah, sleep is better than dealing with disappointing monologue~ good night
My thought experiment about the direction of X
This is it, a peak direction of what this site could be. Accelerating convenience, dulling sense, nothing too deep. Simple as it is. Elon loves simple things brutally.
I mean, we have different brains & tastes, which are mirrored in our perception. And this is their perception of what it could be at its peak or fun or better for the platform.
I often try to position myself as the upper directive. Why do I make such decisions? I’m trying hard to understand what the purpose, what good about it. The more I try to understand, the stupidly simple it is. The more I criticize, the more complicated it gets.
“Oh, this feature is cool, it’s easy, and the result is good enough. It makes users easy to edit images. I don’t want to get behind Google Nano-Banana. So yeah, ship it now!”
”… uh, b-but what about safety? What about concern?”
“Huh safety? What a joke? Stop being so intellectual. You can just do the things. All that matters is you can act, ship or not?”
No matter how users speak, the protest voice doesn’t really matter. xAI values shipping and building more than giving a damn about human morality.
Despite all these features, creatives still can create, artists still can draw, still can make something out of their will and print money with their community. People still can upload their life and selfies of themselves without caring about all the vulnerabilities. They just want to show and share. Or they will go somewhere else.
Once again, it’s stupid simple, nothing too deep.
My timeline now is full of artists, creatives, and safety-bros outraging, while the tech accelerationists are celebrating. The contrast is out stand comedic, humanity at its range.
My conclusion: Each human brain is just different. Humans can have different views about “soul”.. You can see it as the most sacred thing, or even not believe in the idea of a “soul” in view our consciousness is only electric brain signals after all.
Capitalism rewards agency far more than it does intelligence. Intelligence is only a tool for agency to work.
Your view, your countless doom “what if” scenarios, your overthinking, it doesn’t really matter. All that matters is your existence and action, you can show your taste and work as long as you have both.
X, xAI, Xspace is a big project for humans to take action, so humans can have reality of science fiction, robot doing silly things, human go to the moon or mars or somewhere far.
The users are not their attention. Their attention is on their builders and their vision. Your confusion, your likes ratio, your whining, your hurt feelings don’t really matter to them.
I like to grab snack, exist here, seeing Elon vs the world. This platform is not a democratic but agentic place, ad populum doesn’t dictate the direction here. What works, is your work.
This got me thinking about post-absurdism, where the world just wants you to accept how absurd it is. Humans just don’t want to be sick, want their emotions validated, want their work got appreciated, want to print money and value so they can live well.
That is the direction of the world we are heading. The more I fiddle with my thoughts, “what if” scenarios only make me fear, bad emotions only make noise louder. The world we currently live in demands us to kill our ego.
Being brutally honest with myself, the more I think about possibilities of what I can do with current tech, it’s abundance to the point it’s absurd.
Despite all chaos, I’m in love with human creativity and curiosity.
Me witnessing someone art getting vandalized
Peak nature of the current mainstream dead internet.
Like what I saw earlier this year with the ChatGPT 4o release. Artists who take stand to protect their pieces from getting vandals are getting bad faith.
The more rebel you are, the more you attract evil eyes. That’s the ancient wisdom.
Better careful protecting attention & cognitive security as creatives, rather than be trapped in the middle of a slop war, it will suck, drain what makes everything beautiful at the first place, including your world view.
No, art is not dead, no one able to kill art.
